If the system repeatedly displays an "Invalid verification code" error while verifying your login or setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in the VT Markets Client Portal, the issue is typically caused by expired OTP codes, unsynchronized device system time, or browser cache conflicts. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve code mismatches and align your device timestamps.
2FA Code Validation and Entry Checks
Verify Dynamic Code Validity: The 6-digit one-time password generated by Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator refreshes every 30 seconds. Ensure you submit the newly generated code before the countdown timer expires.
Match Account Records: If you have multiple VT Markets entries listed in your authenticator app, confirm you are selecting the active entry that corresponds directly to your current Client Portal profile and deleting binding information that has already expired.
2FA Device Time Synchronization
iOS Devices (iPhone / iPad):
1. Open Settings and tap General.
2. Select Date & Time.
3. Toggle Set Automatically to ON.
4. If the error persists, test by manually adjusting the time zone to UTC±1.
Android Devices (Google Authenticator):
Open the Google Authenticator app and tap the top-left menu icon (three horizontal lines).
Go to Settings.
Tap Time correction for codes.
Select Sync now to calibrate code generation timestamps with international server time.
