A VT Markets MT5 trading account can be upgraded to a PRO ECN account only if the account meets the account type, trading activity, and affiliation requirements. VT Markets downgrades a PRO ECN account back to a standard ECN account if the client joins an IB affiliate, the client's individual account is changed to an IB account, or the trading account no longer meets the trading activity requirements.
Eligible account types for PRO ECN account
- Only the following MT5 trading account types are eligible for a PRO ECN upgrade:
- Hedge ECN: Upgrades to Hedge PRO ECN.
- MT5 Swap-free: Upgrades to Raw PRO ECN.

After the upgrade is completed, a PRO ECN logo is displayed next to the trading account in the Client Portal.
Trading activity requirements for PRO ECN account
- The MT5 trading account must meet at least one of the following conditions:
- Trading volume: Within any 30 consecutive days during a 90-day period, the trading account has at least 5 closed orders with a total notional value of USD 500,000 or more. Notional value is calculated as lots x contract size x close price.
- Account balance: The trading account balance is greater than USD 10,000 (or equivalent in the account currency), and the trading account has at least one closed order in its history.
Affiliation requirements for PRO ECN account
- Eligibility for the PRO ECN upgrade depends on the type of partnership affiliation linked to the VT Markets account:
- Account under a CPA: Eligible for the upgrade.
- IB account, or account under an IB: Not eligible for the upgrade.

Account under both an IB and a CPA at the same time: Not eligible for the upgrade.
Upgrading to a PRO ECN account Steps
- A client whose MT5 trading account meets all of the requirements above can upgrade the account in the VT Markets Client Portal:
- 1. Log in to the VT Markets Client Portal.
- 2. Navigate to Account.

3. Click the "Upgrade to PRO ECN" icon.
Reasons a PRO ECN account is downgraded
VT Markets may change a PRO ECN trading account back to a standard ECN trading account for reasons that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- IB affiliation joined after the upgrade: The client joined an IB affiliate after the trading account was upgraded to PRO ECN.
- Individual account changed to an IB account: The client's VT Markets individual account was changed to an IB account.
- Trading activity requirements not met: During any 30-day period within a 90-day timeframe, the trading account did not meet the trading volume or account balance conditions described in the Trading activity requirements section.
