How to Log In to MetaTrader 4/5 (MT4/5) on PC

This guide will walk you through the process of logging into your VT Markets trading account using the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5) desktop platforms.

Step 1: Download & Install the Platform

If you haven't installed the software yet, please download the installation files from our official website:

Once downloaded, run the .exe file and follow the on-screen installation prompts.

Step 2: Log In to Your Trading Account

After launching your MT4 or MT5 platform, follow these steps to connect your account:

  1. Navigate to the Login Menu: In the top-left corner of the platform, click on File and select Login to Trade Account from the drop-down menu.

  2. Enter Your Credentials: A login window will appear. Please enter the details provided in your account opening email:

    • Login: Enter your trading account number.

    • Password: Enter your master password (case-sensitive).

    • Server: Select the specific server assigned to you (e.g., VTMarkets-Live 1).

  3. Save Information: Check the "Save account information / Save Password" box if you would like the platform to remember your details for future sessions.

  4. Complete Login: Click Login (or OK).

Step 3: Verify Your Connection

You can confirm that you are successfully logged in by checking the Connection Status icon in the bottom-right corner of the platform:

  • Green/Blue bars: You are connected and receiving live market data.

  • Red bars / "No Connection": Check your internet or server selection.

  • "Invalid Account": Please double-check your account number, password, or server name.

💡 Expert Tips for Desktop Users

Multiple Accounts: You can log in to multiple accounts by repeating this process. To switch between them, use the "Navigator" window (Ctrl+N) and double-click the account you wish to use.

Server Not Found? If your server doesn't appear in the drop-down list, you may need to scan for it. Go to File > Open an Account, search for "VT Markets," and click "Scan" before returning to the login window.

Password Security: Always ensure you are using your "Master Password" to trade. Using the "Investor Password" will only allow you to view the account without placing trades.

Close proxy server: If check this option might cause connection problems, you can click the top menu: Tools > Option and uncheck this box.
