How does my copy mode determine trade sizes in App Copy Trading and BK Social Trading?
Your copy mode determines the position size opened on your account when you copy a Signal Provider’s trade. Depending on the available subscription settings, you can choose Autoscale, Fixed Lot, or Multiply.
How Does Each Copy Mode Work?
Copy mode
How your copied position size is determined
Autoscale
Scales the position size proportionally using your account size relative to the provider’s account size and the applicable risk ratio.
Fixed Lot
Uses a predefined lot size for each copied trade, regardless of the provider’s position size.
Multiply
Multiplies the provider’s position size by your selected multiplier.
How Does Autoscale Determine My Position Size?
Autoscale compares your account size with the Signal Provider’s account size. The calculation uses the selected comparison value and risk ratio.
The comparison options are:
Equity: Account balance + credits + floating profit or loss.
Balance: Account balance + credits.
Because your account size may differ from the provider’s, your copied position may have a different lot size.
How Does Fixed Lot Determine My Position Size?
Fixed Lot uses the predefined volume in your subscription settings.
For example, if your fixed lot size is 2 lots:
Provider’s trade
Your copied trade
Buy 100 lots of EURUSD
Buy 2 lots of EURUSD
Sell 0.1 lots of EURUSD
Sell 2 lots of EURUSD
How Does Multiply Determine My Position Size?
Copied Volume = Provider’s Volume × Multiplier
For example:
Multiplier
Provider’s trade
Your copied trade
3
Buy 2 lots of EURUSD
Buy 6 lots of EURUSD
0.1
Sell 10 lots of EURUSD
Sell 1 lot of EURUSD
How Is the Calculated Volume Rounded?
The calculated volume is adjusted to meet the product’s lot step, which is the permitted increment in trading volume.
Volumes are rounded down to the nearest permitted increment.
For example:
Calculated volume: 0.157 lots
Lot step: 0.01 lots
Rounded volume: 0.15 lots
What Happens If the Volume Is Below the Minimum Lot Size?
Your Small Volume Handling setting determines the outcome:
Skip: The trade is not copied.
Rounded to Min Lot: The trade opens at the product’s minimum lot size, where enabled and applicable.
Opening at the minimum lot size creates a larger position than the calculated volume.
The final copied volume may therefore differ from the initial calculation because of lot-step rounding and minimum lot-size requirements.
What Should I Check Before Choosing a Copy Mode?
How the mode calculates position sizes.
Your selected risk ratio, fixed lot size or multiplier.
Your Small Volume Handling setting.
The applicable volume limits and available free margin.
Higher risk ratios, multipliers, or fixed lot sizes can increase trading exposure and margin requirements.
Your trading results may differ from the provider’s because of differences in account size, execution prices, spreads, liquidity and other trading conditions.
Risk Warning
