Dynamic leverage temporarily changes the leverage limits for new trades opened during an adjustment period. Existing trades and your account’s displayed leverage setting remain unchanged.
New trades: Positions opened during the adjustment period use the temporary leverage limits and may require more margin.
Existing trades: Positions opened before the adjustment period retain their original leverage and margin requirements.
Displayed leverage: The leverage setting shown in your account remains unchanged.
After the adjustment period: Your original applicable leverage resumes automatically.
These temporary adjustments help manage exposure on new trades during potentially volatile market conditions.
Why does your account still display the original leverage?
Dynamic leverage temporarily changes the leverage used to calculate margins for affected products. It does not change the leverage setting displayed on your account.
During the adjustment period, your account therefore continues to show your original leverage, even when a different leverage limit applies to a new trade.
When will your original leverage resume
Your original applicable leverage resumes automatically when the dynamic leverage adjustment period ends. You do not need to take any action or submit a request.
Example of how Dynamic Leverage affects your Gold trading margin?
Suppose you normally trade Gold CFD with leverage of 1:500. During a Dynamic Leverage period, Gold leverage is temporarily limited to 1:100. Your account still displays 1:500, but the effective leverage for Gold is reduced to 1:100, so a larger margin is required to open or maintain a position. Once the period ends, 1:500 applies again automatically.
What should you check before trading
The affected products
The applicable maximum leverage
The effective date and time
The duration of the Dynamic Leverage period
Any additional conditions that may apply
Ensure you have sufficient free margin before and during the scheduled period, particularly when opening or maintaining larger positions.
Risk warning
