What Determines Your Available Leverage
- The entity your account is registered under: Regulatory caps differ by region (e.g., ASIC, FSC, FSCA) and take precedence over default account maximums.
- The product traded: CFDs on forex, gold, indices, shares, and cryptocurrencies each have their own maximum leverage limits, which are usually lower than the account maximum. The product limit always applies where it is lower.
- Your account equity: Leverage may reduce automatically as your total equity increases, as part of our risk management controls.
- Market conditions: Leverage may be temporarily reduced ahead of high-impact economic news releases, market holidays, or weekend market closes.

Important Leverage Conditions
- Account Leverage: Your account leverage setting represents the maximum leverage assigned to your trading account, subject to applicable restrictions.
- Product-Specific Limits: If a trading instrument has a lower maximum leverage, the product-specific limit applies.
- Equity-Based Adjustments: Leverage may decrease as account equity increases, depending on the applicable account rules.
- Temporary Restrictions: Leverage may be adjusted during significant market events, periods of unusual volatility, or scheduled market closures.
- Margin Requirements: Lower leverage generally increases the margin required to open or maintain a position.
- Risk Management: You are not required to use the maximum available leverage. Trading smaller positions may help reduce your exposure to market risk.
