- If you use a VPN or proxy, temporarily disconnect it where permitted and test again.
Check your trading account and server
- On MT4 or MT5 desktop:
- Go to File → Login to Trade Account.
- Confirm your trading account number, trading password, and assigned server.
- Click the connection indicator in the bottom-right corner and select Rescan Servers, if available.
- On MT4 mobile, use the connection refresh or server options if available. Navigation varies by device and application version.
Restart the platform and device
- Close MT4 or MT5 completely, then reopen it.
- If the issue continues, restart your computer or mobile device.
Check whether security software is blocking MetaTrader
Reinstall the platform if the issue continues
Are My Open Positions Still Active
- Open Positions: Remain active and continue to be affected by market price movements.
- Pending Orders: Remain active and may be triggered when their conditions are met.
- Stop Loss / Take Profit: Existing server-side Stop Loss and Take Profit instructions remain active.
- Manual Trading: You may be unable to open, modify, or close positions through the disconnected platform.
How Do I Know When The Connection Has Been Restored
