A 3-day swap, also called a triple swap, is a multiplied overnight financing adjustment applied on a designated weekday to account for relevant settlement or non-trading days.
It may result in a larger swap charge or credit than a standard overnight adjustment.
Which day does a 3-day swap apply?
The applicable day depends on the product.
Some products apply triple swap on Wednesday or Friday.
Do not assume that all products follow the same schedule.
Check the selected product’s specifications for its applicable day.
How do I check the 3-day swap day on desktop?
Open MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5).
Select View → Market Watch, or press Ctrl + M.
Right-click the product.
Select Specification.
Find the 3-Day Swap field or applicable swap schedule, if shown.
Check the schedule for each product you intend to hold overnight.
Does a 3-day swap always result in a charge?
No. The adjustment may be a charge or credit, depending on the applicable swap rate and your position’s direction.
