If you are experiencing issues opening or closing a position on your trading platform, please perform a quick self-diagnostic check on the following five critical factors:
1. Market Availability & Trading Hours
Active Trading Hours: Ensure that the specific financial market or asset class you are trying to trade is currently open. Different financial instruments have distinct trading sessions and maintenance breaks. You can review the MT4/5 or VT Markets APP directly within our Product Specifications page.
Weekends and Holidays: Please verify that your trade attempt does not fall over a weekend or a recognized international public holiday, as global liquidity markets are closed during these intervals.
2. Account Status & Identity Verification (KYC) Failure
Read-Only Mode: Your account may be systemically restricted to Read-Only access. This typically happens if your profile verification remains incomplete or has failed, or if you use a read-only (investor) password login to your trading account.
Failed Identity (POI) Verification: If your uploaded National ID or Passport was rejected by our internal team or you haven't submitted your ID, trading will be temporarily disabled.
Common reasons for ID failure include:
Images are blurry, unreadable, or have severe glare/reflections.
The document's edges or corners are cropped or cut off.
The ID card or Passport has expired.
3. Scheduled Server Maintenance
Routine Platform Maintenance: VT Markets periodically conducts scheduled system optimizations, server upgrades, or data synchronization to guarantee a premium trading environment. These routine maintenance windows typically occur during weekend market closures or specific short intervals during global trading session changeovers.
4. Symbol Suffix Selection
Match Your Account Type: Different account types (e.g., Standard vs. RAW ECN) use different liquidity feeds, which are categorized by specific letter suffixes at the end of the symbol name (e.g.,
EURUSD-STPorGBPUSD-ECN). You just need to select the exact symbol that matches your account type suffix.
5. Connection & Login Credentials
Correct Master Password/Platform: Confirm that you have logged into your MT4/MT5 platform using your correct trading credentials.
