Rapid market movements and leverage can occasionally cause an account balance to drop below zero following a stop-out. VT Markets offers negative balance protection, which automatically or manually restores your balance to zero.
- Automatic Reset: The system automatically scans accounts and resets negative balances back to zero every 3 minutes.

Manual Reset (via Client Portal): If the automated reset is delayed and your balance remains negative for more than 1 hour, a manual option becomes available:
- 1. Log in to the VT Markets Client Portal.
- 2. Navigate to Accounts.
- 3. Locate the affected MT4/MT5 trading account, click the Settings (gear) icon, and select Reset balance.

Important Notes:
- All active trades must be fully closed before resetting the balance manually.
- If your trading account holds a credit bonus, it may be partially or fully removed upon completing the balance reset.
- PAMM accounts are managed separately and are not eligible for the self-service balance reset feature.
- If your account balance remains negative for over 1 hour and the reset button does not appear after refreshing, please contact customer support immediately.
