In MT4/MT5, you may notice certain forex pairs that appear greyed out in the Market Watch panel. These symbols have no suffix and exist solely as reference rates for calculating the exchange rate of index products in different currencies. They are not tradeable instruments.

To access tradeable products, you will need to display the full list of available symbols and select the correct ones. Tradeable forex pairs, gold, silver, and oil symbols include a suffix in their name, while other products such as commodities, shares, and indices do not have suffixes and can be identified by their standard names.
To find and add tradable symbols to your Market Watch panel:
1. Right-click anywhere in the Market Watch panel.
2. Select Show All to display the full list of available products.
3. For forex pairs, gold, silver, and oil, choose the symbols that include a suffix (e.g., EURUSD-STD or EURUSD-ECN rather than EURUSD).
4. For commodities, shares, and indices, select the standard symbol names.

Some products, including indices, oil, and shares, have specific trading hours. You can check the trading hours for any symbol by right-clicking it in the Market Watch panel and selecting “Specification”.
